Warning: If you have not yet watched this movie, don’t read my review as it contains spoilers and basically the whole movie in a few paragraphs.
I cannot fathom the fact that Tong and Mew do not end up together. Like why? Who were they going to hurt by letting them be together! It pisses me off with anger and fury knowing that they aren’t together in the end. That isn’t the way that this story should be. They’re suppose to be together, they have to be together!
And don’t even get me started on the whole June thing, I mean I don’t fully understand if it was Tang all along or not. I mean, wtf.
I guess that’s why this movie is some-what amazing, because everything you want to happen and what’s suppose to happen, doesn’t. It doesn’t reveal the truth about June/Tang, it doesn’t have a happy ending where Tong (my husband) and Mew end up together and sailing off into the sunset. You want these simple things answered and to happen in a positive light. When it doesn’t, it just shows you that nothing is as is.
I gotta admit I wasn’t looking forward to watching a subtitled film. Although, most are good, I was thinking ‘Ugh! Subtitles, it’s worse than reading a book.’ I think after watching this movie. I would highly recommend. Just simply because It’s nothing you expect in a gay-themed movie. That can be interpreted as good or bad. It’s up to you to decide..
Btw, did I mention I’m marrying Tong one day… I did? Oh well, just thought I’d put it out there once again.
